Long before I began writing books about my awakening, I wrote poetry (even when I was little). Many of the poems appeared in literary magazines. For decades I’ve had a wish to assemble my favorites into a collection. At long last it is happening.
About this book
Hours Till Morning contains poetry about my youth, fully-embodied passion, my life as a mother, beloved creatures, and what it’s been like post-awakening. I have “let it rip” in this book, publishing poems about painful (and erotic) parts of my personal history, some of which readers here and there may find surprising or troubling. But I don’t have forever. This collection is one of my heart’s most enduring desires. So I decided to let it rip. Two of the poems can be previewed here .
We are all human beings, complicated through and through. If my evident “humanness” is shocking or disturbing, notice that. And let the noticing be its own gentle teaching. Awakening is about real people, with messy histories.
I hope you will be moved to take a look at the book. You may want to ask me things, if you read it, but my loving request is that you simply allow any questions or comments to live in your dear heart. Please let the poems speak for themselves. The great portion of the poems are in no way “teacherly” (though a few at the end may be).
Hours Till Morning is projected to be available November 19 (in paperback and digital) on Amazon.
Love to all,
Jan
